好きな言葉「一期一会」。。。My favourite phrase "ICHIGO ICHIE"

One japanese proverb says "ICHI.GO ICHI.E". Do you know the meaning? If we analyze the Chinese character we divide it into 3 words. ICHI(一)is one, GO (GO is the pronunciation in this phrase, other pronunciation is KI:期) means "period or term", E(E/ei/: is pronunciation in this phrase, other pronunciation is KAI:会) means "meet". Then if we translate word by word, the meaning should be "one meeting exists only one time or one period". When I saw it at the first time I read "IKKI IKKAI".
Well, It talks about meeting. When you meet someone for the first time, have you ever think that that might be the last chance for you meeting that person?
In fact, in everyday life, we met such kind of meeting very often. Because that meeting might be the last chance, we should take it important. Because your meeting with any friends is the treasure for your life. If you take meeting as essential to you, you will meet people with warm heart and this makes you become a gentle or kind people. Your heart will be plenty of love toward people.
It seems that my explanation is not enough for the meaning of this japanese phrase, I just can feel it but I can't express it rightly in English. It might be because my English is not good or my expression ability is low.
Anyway, what I want to say here is that, if we try to take "the meeting with people" as our special occassion, we will act gently, kindly toward people and that lead us to a peaceful mind that is the best happiness.
I experienced a period of unpeaceful mind. I lived with anger and hatred. But after I came to japan, those unpeaceful mind went out of me gradually and now I found that I am very peaceful and very happy though I have to struggle many obstacles everyday. But what I found and I am confident to recomment you all is that peaceful mind is the best happiness. No anger, no hatred, no ill feeling. Just live our way, enjoy help people and enjoy seeing people smile. This is the way japanese says "KOKOROgaYUTAKA:こころが豊か(ゆたか)" means you are rich in heart.
Dun know if it is right or wrong for your life, but I am enjoying this way of life and found happiness.

Oh Nia, welcome again.
Nice to have your comment. Are you in Japan too?
Well, never mind where you are. "mata ne" is sometime just a convinence word when partying friends. The same as "otsukare samadesita:お疲れ様でした", sometimes we use it without thinking of the meaning seriously.
Anyway, as you said, living by taking care of the ralation we have in the present is the best lah.
